Dorothy Theresa Kulis

Redgranite - Dorothy Theresa Kulis, (nee Czysz) age 95, a resident of Preston Place in Redgranite, formerly of Milwaukee and Pearl Lake, rural Redgranite, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, December 30, 2018 at Preston Place. She was surrounded by the love of her family.

Dorothy was born on St. Valentine's Day, February 14, 1923 in Milwaukee, a daughter of Edward and Martha (Laska) Czysz. She was raised in Milwaukee and attended Girl's Technical High School of Milwaukee. Dorothy married her life-long love, Edward Michael Kulis on April 15, 1944 at St. Josephat Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Ed preceded Dorothy in death on February 3, 2015 at Preston Place following 71 years of marriage.

She was employed as a custodian for the Milwaukee Public Schools until her retirement, and had worked for a time at Malcore Steel Co. in Milwaukee in munitions manufacturing. While living in Milwaukee, Ed and Dorothy were members of St. Vincent's Catholic Church.

Ed and Dorothy moved to their home in rural Redgranite in 1990, and had been residents of Preston Place in Redgranite since 2014. They were both active, faithful members of St. Mark's Catholic Church in Redgranite. They sang for 17 years with the Berlin Senior Singers. Dorothy also enjoyed playing Bingo and going to the Casinos.

Survivors include her sons and daughter, Mike (Diane), Dan (Carolee), Chris (Colleen), Joe (Debbie), and Greg (Teri) Kulis, and Judy (Chuck) Lee; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and dear friends.

FUNERAL SERVICES: The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 4th. at 11:30 A.M. at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Redgranite. (The Church is located on Church Street on the West Side of Redgranite, South of Highway 21. Turn South at the Car Wash.) Following the Mass, Dorothy will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Edward in St. Mark's Parish Cemetery, Redgranite.

VISITATION: Relatives and friends may call from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. Friday morning Only, prior to the Mass at St. Mark's Catholic Church.

The Kulis family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of caregivers at Preston Place in Redgranite and also to ThedaCare at Home Hospice for all their kind, gentle care. We will never forget your kindness!
