Dorothy Leverette Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 4, 2022.
Dorothy Denise Leverette was born on October 14, 1958, to the union of Odell Leverette and the late Bernice Brown Leverette. God sent his chariot to escort her to her heavenly home on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at the age of 63.

Dorothy the youngest child of that union, was baptized at an early age, at Fairview Baptist Church. She attended Phillips Elementary, Phillips Junior High, and graduated from L.E. Rabouin High School in 1976. Due to her passion of hair styling, she attended and graduated from Stevenson's Academy of Hair Design and became a Licensed Cosmetologist at the age of twenty years old.

Due to her many talents, Dorothy held several professions. She was a mixologist, Certified Nursing assistant, Room Attendant for Mississippi Job Corp Center in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, and a paraprofessional at Young Audiences Charter school where she helped assist with special need kids. Above all, she was most passionate about her career as a Cosmetologist. "Dottie" worked at Head Hunter's Hair Fashions in the lower ninth ward for more than twenty years, and then later on she went to work at Flammin' Design doing what she loved best. Dorothy loved fashion and was always well kept, she would dress "to the nines and will be truly missed.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother Bernice Brown Leverette, her eldest sister Patricia Ann Leverette, and her brother Michael Burd (Shirley). She leaves to cherish her loving father, Odell Leverette; the love of her life, daughter Eboni Epperson, a devoted sister Beverly Ann Leverette, loving grandchildren London Wilson, and Landon Epperson, adored by her nieces, DeLisha Leverette, TonYa Hill, and Christy Tate, nephews, WilFred Watson, Carvin Carter, and Keith Burd, great nieces, Caroli Leverette, Imani and Nia Young, a devoted friend Joseph "Rico" Forbes, two God Children, and a host of family and friends.

God sent His legion of Angels to bring Dottie home to Him, where there is no more suffering, no more pain, just rest from her labor. After you met Dottie you had a friend for life. We send condolences to her family on behalf of Douglas Haywood her friend and employer at Head Hunter´s Hair Fashions. She is now absent from the body and present with the Lord.
