Dorothy J McCartney (Miller)

Dorothy Jean McCartney (Miller), 69 of Allentown, PA passed away unexpectedly on January 22,2024.

Lovingly known as Dory, she was the second born child to Russell and Helen Miller on September 4, 1954 in Mount Vernon, NY. She immediately brought love and laughter into the world that would be experienced by all that would know her.

Dory was a dedicated mother that raised her children to become independent loving parents themselves. Throughout their lives she created many traditions and memories that will be cherished and carried on.

Having found her forever love the second time around, Dory and Richard created a life surrounded by family. Their large home was frequently visited by all of their children and grandchildren for holidays, school breaks and vacations.

Dory loved all holidays but her favorite was Thanksgiving since she had so much to be thankful for. She loved spending time with family, cooking, her cats and playing words with friends.

Dory was predeceased by her parents, Russell and Helen Miller and by her son, Michael Jones. She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard McCartney, her adoring children Daniel Jones (Kristin), Allyson Viola (Scott), Jennifer DiSclafani (Lenny), Patrick Jones (Natalia), step daughter Kimberly Herrity, step son Jeffrey McCartney (Kristen) and her loving grandchildren who will forever miss their Grammy. Tyler, Drew & Lily Jones, Jenna, Jayson & Jake Viola, Sebastian DiSclafani, Julia & Emma Jones, Owen & Patrick Herrity and Logan & Liam McCartney. Dory is also survived by her sister Cathy McGuiness (Jimmy) and brother Russell Miller (Valerie).
