Dorothy O'Halleran Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 8, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy O'Halleran (née Crowe) on March 28, 2025, at the age of 88. Dorothy passed peacefully while on hospice, with her final days surrounded by love.

Born on July 12, 1936, in Queens, New York, Dorothy grew up on Long Island, where she cultivated the values of love, family, and resilience that defined her life. In 1959, Dorothy married her devoted husband, Joseph O'Halleran, and they were blessed with two children, Patrick, born in 1961, and Susan, born in 1962, and moved to New Jersey in 1975.

During a challenging time that presented significant change for the family, Dorothy showed unwavering strength and resiliency by providing stability, security, and care for her family. Her journey later took her to Florida for a well-deserved retirement, and eventually to Arizona in 2017, where she cherished being close to her family again. In recent years, Dorothy formed close friendships and enjoyed engaging activities at her memory care residence, including a recent prom where she was crowned prom queen, cheered on by her family.

She was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones and found delight in gardening, hiking, reading, and spending precious time with her grandchildren, Kelly O'Halleran, Melissa O'Halleran, and Emma O'Halleran, as well as her step-grandchildren, Hunter Ramon and Sierra Ramon.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph, her father Edward Crowe, her mother Helen Crowe, her sister Helen Lennon (née Crowe), and her brother Edward Crowe Jr.

Her strength and boundless love will remain a guiding light for those who were privileged to know her. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will carry her legacy of compassion and joy forward.
