Dorothy J. Perkins BRISTOL, Va. Dorothy J. Perkins, age 83, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at Greystone Healthcare Center. She was born December 19, 1926, to General George Kirkpatrick and Doni Kirkpatrick of Texas. She had lived in the Bristol area for the past 15 years, having moved here from Jefferson, Texas. Mrs. Perkins was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie B. Perkins; two grandchildren; seven sisters; and two brothers. Survivors: son, Robert Faubion of Austin, Texas; daughters, Deborah Faubion of Bristol Virginia, Sherry Welborn of San Antonio, Texas, Carol Welborn Justice and husband Ray of Bristol Virginia; nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, from the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Thrasher officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be friends and family. The family will receive friends at Weaver Funeral Home from 1-2 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 207 N. Boone St., Suite 1500, Johnson City, TN 37604. The family would like to thank the staff of Greystone Healthcare for their love and care.
