Dorothy Frances Powell, 84, of Duluth, died July 25, 2004 at St. Lukes Hospice. She was born in Chatanooga, Tenn. on November 24, 1919 to Charles and Mary Poston. Dorothy married Robert F. Powell in Minneapolis on May 26, 1942. She was a homemaker who enjoyed family history research, knitting, her computer, and traveling around the country. Dorothy also sang in various church choirs, was an avid bridge player, a member of investment clubs, member of the Super 6 Retired Army Organization and very much enjoyed being with her family and friends. Dorothy was tough as nails. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Robert Alan Powell, sister Charolyn Mae Spencer and brother Charles S. Poston, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia (Dr. David) Blomberg, Duluth, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. VISITATION:11 a.m. until the Noon Celebration of Life, Tuesday, at Williams-Lobermeier Funeral Home. Burial at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred.
