RACKES - Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Rackes went to be with the Lord on October 22, 2004. She passed away suddenly but peacefully at St.Mary's Hospital in the presence of family. Dorothy was born on March 17, 1926 the second child of Katherine and Simon Gozdik. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Flanders and Barbara Gozdik and grandchild, Jacob Price. Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Joseph; her children and their spouses, David and Cherrie Rackes of Grand Rapids, Susan and Wayne Abel, Stacy and Charles Price of West Olive, Shelly and Robert Boruta of Kent City; grandchildren, Noah Rackes, Erin, Krista and Ryan Abel, Charles Jr., Michael, Nicholas, Philip and Maria Price; James Remmelts; great-grandchildren, Bryan and Shyla Remmelts; sister and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Albert Skwarek, Jack Flanders and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Honoring Dorothy's last wishes there will be no Service. The Family asks in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Animal Shelter in your area.
