DOROTHY N. (nee NIKSCH) REDDING Crown Point, IN Passed away peacefully in her home on her 90th Birthday on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Crown Point, IN, and the Peace & Joy Circle. She served on the Board of Directors of the Lake County Courthouse Foundation and served as financial secretary for 5 years. She was Past President of the Crown Point Community Library Board. She was a former employee of U. S. Steel - Gary Works, Secretary of Industrial Relations. She was preceded in death by her daughter Anne Chesnutt and her son-in-law Patrick Chesnutt. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dr. Richard Eugene Redding of Crown Point; 2 daughters, Lauren (Fred) Weed of Brevard, NC, and Elaine (Mark) Kolb of Valparaiso; son, Richard L. (Kelly) Redding of Crown Point; 2 grandsons, Richard Eric Redding & Alexander Steven Redding; 2 granddaughters, Sarah Elaine Redding and Emma Lee Redding. Memorial services will be held Thursday, April 10, 2008, 5:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 352 S. Main Street, Crown Point, with Rev. Mark Wilkins officiating. Cremation at the Burns Funeral Home Crematory will precede the memorial service. There will be no visitation prior to the memorial service. Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, of Crown Point.
