The funeral service for Dorothy Rehfeldt will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hammond, with Pastor Dale Kohrs officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Millville Cemetery.



Dorothy Elizabeth Rehfeldt, 96, of Millville, passed away early Tuesday morning, February 27, 2018 at the Mayo Clinic Health System – Lake City Care Center in Lake City. Dorothy was born October 28, 1921 in Elgin to Fred and Agnes (Cain) Schuchard. She attended school in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School. On August 22, 1946 she married Orville Rehfeldt in Illinois.



Dorothy lived in Westmont, Illinois for 35 years where she raised her family. After her husband died, she moved back to Millville to care for her parents, and she lived in the Millville area for several years. Dorothy entered the care center in November of 2015. Dorothy enjoyed spending her time gardening, doing word find puzzles, and reading. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hammond and its Ladies Guild.



She is survived by her children, Darlene (Richard) Hollenbach of Grand Island, FL, Dana (Tim) Gunn of Caledonia; and Orville (Kathy) Rehfeldt of Millville; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Florence Komisar of Millville, and Judy (Wayne) Holton of Jamestown, KS; and brother Stanley (Marlene) Schuchard of Lake City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, and three brothers.



Friends and family may visit from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel in Lake City and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.



Memorials are preferred to St. John's Lutheran Church of Hammond or The Lutheran Hour.



Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel, in Lake City. The guest register may be signed online at www.schleicherfuneralhomes.com
