Dorothy J. Breland Slade, 69, of Laurel, died Saturday, June 28, 2008, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 1, at Goodwill Baptist Church in Laurel with Bro. Doug Barber and Bro. Donnie Barber officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.Mrs. Slade was retired and was a member of Goodwill Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Myrtis Scott Eubanks; her first husband, W. L. Breland; second husband, Don Slade; sons, Dwayne Breland and Farrell Breland; grandson, Jason Breland; three sisters, LeDora West, Mary Busby, and infant Dorothy D. Eubanks; four brothers, Willie, Herman, and L. C. Steinwinder and Lewis Eubanks.Survivors include three sons, Jay Breland (Kaye) of Texas, Eddie Breland (Charlotte) of Laurel, and Jamie Breland (Dianne) of Tupelo; two daughters, Donna McKissack (John) of Tupelo, Belinda Smith (Kelvin) of Laurel; brothers, Haskel Eubanks (Bob) of Mobile, Ala.; sisters, Ava Merl Pitts (Dean) of Laurel and Audie Lowery of Florence; grandchildren, Amanda Conliff, Stephanie Rose, Erica Blackledge, Heather Westmoreland, April Graham, Justin White, Maegan Knight, Kimberly Hall, Ashley MacKenzie, Kory Breland, Kris Breland, Michael Breland, Jeremiah Breland, Logun Breland, Atrea Breland; 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Lavon Chancellor, Stacy Chancellor, Dennis Schwan, John McKissack, Leroy Ladner, and Ricky Smith.Jones Funeral Home in Ellisville is in charge of arrangements.
