Dorothy Beatrice "Dot" Carter Spainhoward, age 68, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 2:12 PM, Thursday, October 9, 2014, at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, IN.
Dot was born in Henderson, KY, her father was a farmer and mother a homemaker. She had 3 other siblings, of which 2 have passed away. Dot attended Reed Elementary School, Spottsville Elementary School, and County High School. While at Spottsville she met Michael, she left school to marry him at the young age of 16. Dot worked as a church secretary for a while but her main occupation was being a homemaker to her husband and two boys. She was an active member of Christ Gospel Church in Evansville, IN since 1965. There she was a Sunday School teacher and helped each year with the Fall Festival. Both she and Michael worked hard to keep the church clean, it was a "labor of love" to them.
Anytime someone was ill or missed church they would always expect to get a call from Dot, just to check and see how they were doing. At family Christmas parties all family members got a gift from Dot and Michael. Dot was all about unconditional love and care. She will be truly missed.
Dot was preceded in death by her parents, Delmar and Eva Carter, brother, Kenneth Carter, and sister, Anna Faye Francis.

Relatives and friends are invited to Dot's Life Celebration from 2:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday and again on Monday starting at 11:00 AM at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 13, 2014 at the funeral home with the Reverend Sharon Spicer officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
