Dorothy Carol Stewart

Funeral services for Dorothy Carol Stewart, of Tyler are scheduled for Saturday, June 17, 2017 11:00 AM at Smith Temple Church of God in Christ with Supt. Melton Timmons presiding and Bishop David R. Houston eulogist.

Dorothy Carol Robinson Stewart, was born February 14, 1949 to Rev. Burl Robinson and Helen Robinson. She transitioned to heaven on June 8, 2017. She was united in holy matrimony on October 14, 1972 to Jay Roy Stewart in Tyler, Texas, the Lord blessed this union with four children-two daughters and two sons.

Dorothy attended Stanton School and Whitehouse High School Class of 1967. She was also a graduate of Tyler Commercial College/Business School. She was employed by Centerpoint Energy for 38 years.

Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age, she was a devout Christian woman who loved God, loved her husband, adored her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Bethlehem First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a step daughter.

She leaves to cherish her memories: A loving husband of 45 years Jay Roy Stewart; daughters Lori Stewart Brewster, and Rachael Stewart, sons Michael Stewart and Jason Stewart; step daughter LaKeatha Thompson ; two brothers, George Robinson and Burl Robinson, Jr. Sisters, Betty Robinson, Evangelist Devora White, Bevelah Wilson, Cherrel Simpson, Shelia Lee and Glenda Thomas. Ten grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and loved ones.
