Dorothy Lamore Stewart, a beloved soul who graced this world with her presence, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at the age of 76. She was born on July 28, 1946, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to her late parents, Leontine Christy Stewart and Frank Stewart. Dorothy's life was an embodiment of love, strength, and compassion.

As a retiree, Dorothy dedicated her years to being a caretaker, selflessly tending to the needs of those around her. She was a dedicated member of Star Bethlehem Baptist Church. Dorothy attended McKinley High School and cherished her time there.

Dorothy shared a profound bond with her four siblings: Hazel, Seymore, Deloris, and Jerry Dean (Geraldine), who have all passed on before her, leaving cherished memories that she held close to her heart.

Dorothy's legacy lives on through her six children: Angela Meredith, Frank Stewart (deceased), Wanda Stewart, Tina Stewart, Ronda Bennett, and Tamika Stewart, who were the light of her life. She was a doting mother and devoted grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

To honor and celebrate the life of this remarkable woman, visitation services will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023, from 3pm to 5pm and on Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 9am to 10am and funeral following at 10am at Hall Davis and Son Funeral Service, located at 9348 Scenic Highway, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70807. Officiating Pastor, Henry J. Brown. Interment will take place at Heavenly Gates Mausoleum of Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70807, located on 10633 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70807.

Our hearts do often lead us into sorrowful places, but in the end we are always left with a greater understanding of what it truly mens to love, and be loved.
A heart without you Aunty Dorothy is a life without meaning. Eyes without seeing. Mind without reason. Existence without being. All my tears give water and shower the seeds of your soul flower.
Aunty Dorothy. You are enough, your love is enough, and when it seems as though it's not, you have poured too much of yourself into us broken vessel left here on earth, just know you played a part in shaping the heart of your family. We love you Aunty Dorothy, I love you . You are missed sweetness. Don't nobody say Junior the way you use to say it which instantly got my attention. I don't have nobody now to make your famous Chicken and Spaghetti .
As you take your rest with your sisters and walk among the Ancestors . Know you are loved. See you again

Thank you for the love you gave us, you were our home away from home. Even as a kid, I recognized the light you had in you, always making people feel welcomed and at ease with your beautiful spirit, soft voice, smile on your face and in your eyes. There's no doubt that Heaven is your final resting place. Love you, Pam

With a heavy heart, I want to pay tribute to the remarkable life of my beloved mother, Dorothy Lamore Stewart. Her love, grace, and strength has touched many family members and friends profoundly, leaving a huge mark on our hearts.

A devoted mother, who showered many with endless care, and unwavering support. Her love knew no limits.

My mom's generosity touched the lives of many, offering words of wisdom and comfort to all who crossed her path. Her legacy of kindness is immeasurable.

Her strength in the face of adversity inspired us all. My mom taught us to persevere, to embrace challenges with courage, and never lose hope. Her spirit will forever guide us.

I pray that my mom find eternal peace, knowing she is cherished, missed, and forever loved.

Rest in peace, my dearest mother. Your memory will be a beacon of light, guiding us through life's journey.

Love, your daughter, Wanda!
