Dorothy "Sue" Reed, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of July 2, 2024, at the age of 78, in Fort Worth, TX. Born on August 21, 1945, in Weatherford, TX, she was the daughter of Warren "Coy" Curtis and Dorothy Lou Green Curtis.

Sue was a devoted and faithful servant of God, who cherished sharing the love of Jesus with everyone she met. She was a fierce prayer warrior that treasured her time in prayer and in God's word. She was a beloved wife for 41 years to Gary Reed, a loving mother to Jennifer Booher (husband Andy) and Mark Simmons (wife Jeanette), and a caring stepmother to Jennifer Hartobey (husband Dan) and Ken Reed. Sue took immense pride in her family, including her 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, who brought her unmeasurable joy.

One of her many gifts was the ability to be an encourager and build others up. She was a caregiver and never failed to tell or show someone what they meant to her. Her passion for baking made her the designated dessert provider at family and community gatherings. She loved gardening and would fill her patio with beautiful flowers that would draw in butterflies. She also found joy in crafting and decorating, ensuring her home was festively adorned for every season and holiday.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Coy and Dorothy Curtis, and her sister, Donna Dowdy.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public memorial service. A private Celebration of Life will be held for immediate family members, where they will honor her memory and the love she spread throughout her life. Her family will miss her terribly and cherishes the memories of her. They are thankful that through their faith, they have peace knowing that they will see her again in Heaven.

My heart hurts to hear that I´ve lost my sweet Sue. But I do rejoice that Sue is with the Saviour face to face enjoying her eternal home! Sue was my best friend all through out our junior high and high school years in Weatherford. We also went to the same church so we were just about always together doing something! We were typical teenage girls, but we both kept each other accountable pretty much out of too much trouble! Sue was always a prayer warrior, even as a teenager! She always had that optimistic faith! As we grew older life took us in different directions. But each time we reconnected it was just as if it was yesterday. We loved talking about the Lord, our families, our grandkids, and our dogs! We loved to go shopping together too which needed up being mostly window shopping! Enjoy heaven, Sue! . Love you. Will miss you but will join you soon! Your high school sister, Karen (Powell) Cook

Sue was a very special person she loved coming to Bingo and she always keep me straight on what to call and what not to call when we played bingo. I will miss her so much. Always help me take stuff to my car and helped pass out the birthday cake. She will always have a special place in my heart.

When she met Colsyn and her lip quivering while she held back tears, we took a four generation picture and she told me about when she first met me! She was truly special and cared so much!

She always told me about my first birthday when i had a double ear infection and the only thing that calmed me down was laying in her arms, her arms were always so safe and warm.. I will miss her hugs so much.
