Dorothy Emma (Greene) Swain, age 65, of Wilmot Township, Sugar Run, Pa., passed away on March 3, 2007, at Memorial Hospital in Towanda, Pa.

She was born on July 30, 1941, a daughter of the late Frederick and Amy Elizabeth Cornish Greene.

On Sept. 12, 1957, Dorothy married Lewis R. Swain in Burlington, Pa. On July 13, 2001, her husband preceded her in death.

Dorothy was employed by a professional cleaning service, giving 12 years of service. She enjoyed her job and those she worked with.

She enjoyed taking pictures and enjoyed the time spent with her family and friends.

Surviving are her children, Carol (Wayne) Chapman of Wyalusing, Pa., Keith (Kala) Swain of Wyalusing, Linda (Bill) Wilkinson of Troy, Pa., Cherie (Larry) Bartholomew of Franklindale, Pa., Kevin (Stacy) Swain of Wyalusing and Craig Swain of Laceyville, Pa.; two sisters, Joyce Walburn and Beverly Parmenter; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Lewis LeRoy Swain (April 3, 1988), and by two brothers and two sisters, Theodore Greene, Frederick "Jake" Greene, Donna Van Horn and Janice Greene.

Friends and family are invited to call from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at the McHenry Funeral Home, 106 Church St., Wyalusing.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, in McHenry Funeral Home in Wyalusing, with Jason Laudermilch officiating.

Interment will immediately follow in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, Pa.

Pallbearers will be Jason Swain, Josh Swain, Bill Wilkinson, Larry Bartholomew, Joe Vischansky and Steven Vischansky.

Just want the whole family to know you are in our hearts and prayers. Through the years plenty of visits were made to Dot and Lewis's. We grew up with Louie, Linda, Carol and the rest. Dot ended up being my sisters mother-in-law. My husband, Dennis was also a good frend of her son, Louie. For the last several years I looked forward to visiting with Dot, while we were both christmas shopping. She always had a smile, and a kind word. She will be greatly missed. I want the whole family to know I care in this time of loss. God Bless you all.

I remember the Swains so fondly. They used visit my parents (Herman & Helen Buck, Canton) in the late 50's soon after they got married. What a sweet couple! I think I have pictures. If I come across them, I'll be sure to let you know. Sorry for your loss.

I grew up with the Swains, as I was married to Ray Dodge. We spent alot of time with Keith and Kayla.So sorry for the loss of your mom.
