Dorothy Martin Teicheira passed away on Dec. 20, 2010. Dorothy was born to Greek immigrants Spyro and Chrysanthe Coutches on Feb. 24, 1922, in
New York City. She grew up in San Diego and moved to the Bay Area where she graduated from San Mateo High School.
As a young woman, she worked in the Russ Building for a stock market company and, during WWII, she cut and served Blum's cakes at the Naval Officers Club where she met her
first husband, Robert J. Martin. After the war, they moved to Napa where she resided until 1971. Dorothy was active in the Woman's Club, Queen of the Valley Auxiliary and the children's school PTA. Robert Martin passed away in 1964.
In 1971, she met and married Grant L. Teicheira and moved to Vallejo. They had many happy years together traveling, golfing, and watching their grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. In the winter months, they could be found in Hawaii or on the beach in Del Mar walking the edge of the ocean and enjoying the sound of the waves.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 39 years, Grant L. Teicheira; her daughter, Cynthia Meek (George); her son, Robert J. Martin (Wendy);
six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her brother, Mike Coutches. She is also survived by her three stepdaughters, Roxann Stone (Jim), Amy Jo Teicheira (George Leatham), and Allyn Gail Teicheira; four step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Despina Damalas.

I've heard such beautiful stories of Dorothy from her granddaughter, Lissa. I'm sorry you will spend Christmas without her this year. Praying the memories of her life will warm your hearts for years to come. Also praying that her death will give you a fresh reminder to live for Jesus!
