Dorothy Washner Obituary

Dorothy Washner, age 80, of Defiance, formerly of Mentor, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011, at Twin Rivers Care and Rehab Center in Defiance.
She was born Oct. 28, 1930, in Aliquippa, Pa.
Mrs. Washner was a Shaw High School graduate. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Deborah (Emery) DeTray of Defiance; son, Charles Washner of Akron; daughter, Cynthia (Mark) Howell of Mentor; grandchildren, Brian (Erin) DeTray, Stephen DeTray, Megan DeTray, Jessica Nagy, Jennifer Washner and Matthew (Kristy) Washner; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Donna Boland of Mentor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; and parents, Nicholas and Ethel Kobsik.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Washner were my neighbors for many years, the best you could ask for. Dorothy always greeted me with a "hi honey" and a smile. She was a wonderful woman and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.
