Dorthy Moxley Obituary
1932 - 2024
Summit, NJ
Born on June 5, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, Dorthy pursued her education at Michigan State University. Throughout her life, she was known for her strong and gracious kindness, touching the lives of many with her warmth and generosity.
Dorthy had a deep passion for the arts, particularly painting both plein air and portraits. Her creativity inspired many famously known for crafting beautiful necklaces, a hobby that brought her great joy and fulfillment. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Dorthy demonstrated remarkable resilience and courage. For decades she tirelessly fought for justice for the murder of her daughter, Martha, showing unwavering strength in the face of adversity.
Dorthy is survived by her son John (Jenny); granddaughter Caroline; grandson David (Casey) and many close friends who were considered family. She was predeceased by her husband David and daughter Martha.
A memorial service will be held on April 12, 2025 at Chatham United Methodist Church, located at460 Main Street, Chatham, New Jersey, 07928. The service will begin at 11:00am and conclude at 12:00pm.

Dorothy Moxley was like a second mother to me. I am so grateful to her for her love, common sense approach to life, help and being a true friend.
