Dory Landis (Clemens) Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 1, 2025.

Dory Landis (Clemens), 66, passed away in Chehalis, WA on November 7, 2021 after a stroke. She grew up in Eureka, CA, and traveled the world with her first husband (who was in the Air Force), and later with her parents in their retirement. She was a truck driver in the 1980s, when women were still breaking into that industry. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed the outdoors. She loved animals, and the local wildlife knew her backyard as a sanctuary. She bore the pain and misfortunes of this life with a steady patience, and saw the good in all people. Her mischievous smile and gentle laugh will be missed. Dory was preceded in death by her parents and her second husband, Charles Landis. She is survived by her first husband, Steve Ramos, and her son, Jonathan Ramos. She will be laid to rest next to her parents in Ocean View Cemetery in Eureka, CA in January 2025. To honor her memory please consider a gift to a scholarship program that supports women in the trades, or your local wildlife rescue.

On Wednesday, February 5, 2025 my friend would have been 70 years year. If any of Dory's friends read this, you already know what a unique and memorable person she was. She was generous and joyous, and she is missed.

Oh my dear friend of 35 years, what to say? I'm sorry it took so long to get you to your final resting place. You did not deserve what occurred before and after your passing. Simply know that I try to honor you by sharing your optimism and resolve. May those who wronged you learn the meaning of Zechariah 7:10.
