Douglas Bryant Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 6 to Jul. 8, 2023.
Douglas Keith Bryant It is with great sadness that we announce the passing away of our loving caring father, Douglas K. Bryant, on June 26th, 2023. He was surrounded by family as he peacefully passed.

Douglas was born in Crothersville, Indiana on August 27, 1937, to Robert E. Bryant and Nora M. Bryant. As a child, he developed a lifelong love and passion for flying that continued throughout his life. Douglas served three years active duty in the army from 1956-1958, and one year in the reserves. He then moved into his career as a private pilot and flight instructor, operating out of Seymour, Indiana's own Freeman Municipal Airfield for several years as owner of Bryant Jet Services.

Douglas took a job with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in 1990 and moved to Georgia, working with the FAA until his retirement in March of 2020. He had the distinguished honor of being the FAA's oldest serving employee.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Joan Bryant; his sons: Douglas Keith Bryant, Jr., Lance T. Bryant, Brandon L. Bryant; and his sister, Connie A. Hackman. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family asks that donations be made to the National Museum of the USAF.

Donations can be sent to:

The Air Force Museum Foundation, Inc.

P.O. Box 1903

Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio 45433
