Douglas HALL Obituary

HALL, Douglas Ernest
August 13, 1946 – September 16, 2017
Mr. Douglas Ernest Hall, age 71, born August 13, 1946 in Edmonton, Alberta, to Andy Mountain Hall and Hazel Hall, passed away in his home September 16, 2017.
Doug was predeceased by his father, his mother, and his brother.
Doug is survived by his wife Margaret Catherine Hall; his daughter Heather Catherine Baier, her husband Clint Baier, and their son Andy; his son Ernest Andrew Hall; his son Douglas Alexander Hall, his wife Bekki Hall, and their sons Griffin and Riley.
Though his later years were made difficult by illness, in his earlier days Doug was a good- natured and charismatic man.
Doug was a teacher, a blacksmith, an artist, a father, and a friend to many people and all dogs.
Memories of Doug are filled with his unquenchable humour, he was always quick with a pun or excruciatingly slow with the telling of a "shaggy dog story".
Here are two quotes to hold in your hearts when remembering Doug:
"You think dogs will not be in heaven? I tell you, they will be there long before any of us." - Robert Louis Stevenson
"Alright, we'll call it a draw" - Monty Python
Per Doug's wishes, a family memorial has been held. If desired, friends can make memorial contributions to the Edmonton Humane Society.

Doug was a very special and uniquely talented man. He enjoyed teaching and had a special place in his heart for all his students. His sense of humor was delightful. Doug's artistic achievements as a blacksmith were inspirational and beautiful. He loved his children immensely and found great enjoyment being with his grandchildren. He was a wonderful, kind, loving person in so many ways.

I will miss him greatly.
