To all the family,
It was a tough blow when I heard the news about Doug. It's been many years since we've spoken but while reflecting I realize what a big impact Doug had on my life. My heart goes out to everyone.

A few years ago Doug shared a story with us at Christmas about how he had run across a vintage tensile Christmas tree. He knew he had to have one! He was excited about this great find he made, branches still in original wrappers, I believe it was still in the original box. I went home and started looking on-line to see what one looked like. Humm… kind of skinny, but it is shinny, reminds us of times gone by that we want to remember. Well, years later I found one! As we put it up earlier this month I remembered his enthusiasm. Our family will always treasure the memories we have.
Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you Kay, as well as with your family.

Dear Kay, I'm just a fellow classmate from high school. But I am acquainted with grief. I am praying for you, that you will be able to cling to Jesus when the waves of grief come. He is enough. Look at His face, and expect to see His glory. I can cry with you, as I am now. But He can turn your mourning into JOY! Much love, Merry (Stebbins) Shipman

Kay,
You and Jake are my oldest friends in the Portland area. You guys are also part of Marsha's and my family. I know this is hard for you as it has been hard on us as well. Everywhere we look, we see Jake. This is just so hard to comprehend. He will be missed, but, we will keep him alive in our memories. We have lost a brother, but, we still have a great sister.
