Dr. Jenkins, 69, died Sunday, March 26, 2006 at his residence.
Born in Mullins on March 15, 1937, he was the son of the late Douglas Carlton Jenkins and Marguerite White Jenkins. He was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, was a graduate of Wofford College and the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He was the founding partner of Dillon Family Medicine. He was also a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Cain Jenkins of Dillon; daughters, Katherine (Kay) Porcher Jenkins of Greenville, Anne Palmer Jenkins of Columbia, and Eleanor (Lea) Jenkins Webster and her husband, Jay of Anderson, and brother, Arthur Willis Jenkins of Mullins.
Dr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Nixon Jenkins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 330, Dillon, SC 29536, or to the charity of ones choice.

Dr. Jenkins was a wonderful doctor and a good man. He was a great listener and calmed me many times over the years--especially when it came to the care of my children.
He will be missed.

Doug was one of the kindest and warmest friends and doctor I have ever known. There are so many fond memories of him, you and our families and friends in Dillon.

As A child, I remember Dr. Jenkins in church@ St Barnabas, listening to him as he participating in the services as a layreader. He was so wonderful. My mother loved him as a friend and a great doctor, which just a few months ago was complaining as she had to see another doctor and did not receive the kindness and care that Doug always gave. He will be missed by all.
