Douglas Glenn Jordan, 75 of Bostwick, passed away on July 8, 2025. Born in Chickamauga, GA on July 20, 1949, Doug was the son of the late, Kenton and Carolyn Mae Chambers Jordan. He grew up and was schooled in Chickamauga. Later, Doug joined the United States Navy. He served as a Navy Seal for 11 years. Much of his time in the Navy was stationed on submarines. Doug was an unapologetic patriot and loved his country. Following his Navy service, Doug worked as a concert sound engineer and attained a theology degree from Emory University and began his career in ministry. Doug served twenty-five years as a pastor. Most recently, retiring from Bostwick United Methodist. Doug was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a very proud grandfather and great grandfather. As a minister, Doug was committed to his Lord and his church family. As a friend, he was loyal and consistent.

Doug Jordan is survived by his wife, Betty. He also leaves his children, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving are many other family members and friends.

The family received friends on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at Bostwick United Methodist Church in the fellowship hall at 2 PM. A celebration of Doug's life was held at 4 PM in the sanctuary. A separate service will be held on July 20, 2025 at 2 PM at Elizabeth Lee Methodist Church in Chickamauga, GA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elizabeth Lee Methodist Church Building Fund in Chickamauga, to the Bostwick Volunteer Fire Department or to the Bostwick United Methodist Church Children's Ministry or music program.
