Douglas John Miles Sr.

On June 23, 2023, after a long illness, Douglas John Miles Sr; age 64 of North Berwick, Me. passed away in the loving comfort of his home with his wife Laurie and family at his side.

Douglas, son of Ezra John Miles and Sandra Jane Hartson, was born in Barre, Vermont on January 15, 1959, and enjoyed his early childhood in North Montpelier, Vermont. He has four siblings. Brothers Ricky Miles and Nathan Garand, sisters Cheryl Willey and Andrea Garand. Douglas was predeceased by his father Ezra, sister Andrea, and stepson Anthony.

He attended schools in N.H. and at 18, joined the U.S. Army where he proudly served with the 82nd Airbourne Division until he was honorably discharged.

Douglas was a wonderful son, brother, and friend. His family was important to him. His compassionate nature was truly expressed in his work with Hospice. A gift he carried forward and faithfully took care of his stepfather William during his final days and hours.

Douglas married Cheryl Wiggin and together they had three lovely children; April, Douglas Jr, and Jessica.

With a second marriage to his soul mate and best friend Laurie, he gained a close-knit family of five stepchildren. Kristina, Anthony, Aaron, Patrick, and Paul Davis.

He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

My firstborn, your mothers' heart of love, so blessed the day you came into this world, followed you throughout your life and into your eternal life. Go in peace, my son, and know you are deeply loved and greatly missed. 'Till we meet again. .

He is lovingly remembered and deeply missed.
