Rayn & Monette Families
No one knows the silent heartache
Only those who have loved can tell
The grief you bear in silence
For the one you loved so well.
As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Doug Ryan was respected by many people in the Ottawa area. I witnessed this respect every time I visited his garage or when I saw him at an event in the community. He was one of most generous people I have ever met.
With care and ease, Doug was a great role model for those people who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be truly missed for a very long time.

Doug was one of the constant fixtures in our community and during my childhood growing up in it. He's been that constant fixture for a couple of generations. I pumped gas there as a kid and my son Reyn had the same opportunity 35 years later. I don?t think Doug towed me as often as he has my son though.
I must say that we are sad and I will miss calling the garage and hearing Doug answer the phone the way he did for as long as I can remember??Ryans?.
Our sincere sympathies to Doug's abundance of family and friends

Doug was a good friend and customer whom I've know since I moved to Wakefield 30 years ago. He was always there to lend a hand whether I'd just hit a deer, my battery was dead, car was stuck or boat wouldn't start. I was stuck in the middle of 31 Mile Lake once after hitting a rock. Who showed up almost magically but Doug and Maxine who Sarah and I spent the rest of the day with on their boat enjoying every minute!
He will be missed by so many people who've come to know him over the years.
My condolences to Doug's family and friends.

"Touch of Class" what an appropriate name for a pulling truck that describes Doug and his ways at all the truck pulls run by the Northern Truck Pullers Association through the Gatineau, the Pontiac and in Ontario over the years.
I had the pleasure of dealing with Doug at most of the pulls. I drove "Touch of Class" once at Ladysmith although I am not sure if Doug knew that I was to drive until the truck came to the line.
My thoughts are with the families and friends at this time

Dear Mona and the Ryan and the Monette families,
I offer to you all my deepest sympathies. I know that Doug fought a courageous battle with cancer essentially since the passing of his dear wife, Maxine.
I met Doug only once 15+ years ago; he was with Maxine and they were joking and kidding with each other. They really did seem to be a couple who were like two peas in a pod!
Doug will be so very missed by so many people but it must bring some comfort to know that the "owner Ryan's Garage, Alcove" and "The Real Boss of Ryan's Garage" are together again in eternal bliss.
Mona, I am sorry I did not have at least a phone visit with you in 2009 but I never had a day when I could say that I had a morning to spare. I only want to phone you when I know I have that time. However, I have thought of Doug and you and all your family and the Ryan family very often throughout the year. It was, no doubt, a very trying time for Doug and for all of you.
Mona, I hope to phone you before too long.
Love and Prayers,
Anita

Dear John, Denis, Mark, Larry and all Doug's family members and friends,
I just spoke with Noella and learned of Doug's passing. He was a great guy and did so many things for a large number of people in the Gatineau Valley and beyond. There are so many memories, the race car, the old blue truck that used to hall "The Young Ones" equipment around. His time with the fire department. The tow truck that took my trailer up to my parents before the flood came to Wakefield.
We must remember all the good things about Doug and Maxine that make us smile and laugh for they were a great couple that left us too soon but are together again.
May God Bless them and their families during this time of loss.
Peace be with you all.
