Douglas Sherrod Obituary
Surviving are his parents, Danny and Terry Sheppard Sherrod of Brooklet; a brother and sister-in-law, Wes and Jennifer Sherrod of Brooklet; a nephew, Isaac Sherrod of Brooklet; maternal grandmother, Joyce Sheppard Burrell, and her husband, Paul, of Brooklet; aunts and uncles, Barry and Connie Sherrod of Brooklet, Mike and Brenda Sherrod of Brooklet, Terry and Kidron Robertson of Savannah, Kenny Robertson of Townsend and Pat and Ken Howard of Savannah. Several cousins also survive.
The funeral service will be Saturday, March 5th, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Old Fellowship Baptist Church with Dr. Reland Morgan officiating, assisted by Dr. John Parker. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joey Scott, John Wheeles, Matt Powell, Darnell Brawner, Will Groover and Nick Sherrod.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Statesboro-Bulloch Parks and Recreation Tennis League.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Old Fellowship Baptist Church Building Fund, 4970 Highway 80 East, Brooklet, Ga. 30415.

I was just sharing with my kids the other day of when I use to babysit Doug and Wes. I am so very sorry for your lose. I am so heartbroken for you both. Doug was a very intelligent and gifted young man with a love for life, his family and others who knew him. I will always have those memories of Doug and will cherish them always.

Danny and Terri We were so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. We remember him as the Voice of Christmas for the many Plays that he narrated over the years at Old Fellowship We will miss him terribly and just know that our hearts and prayers are with you in your time of grief .
