Douglas Neil Swimm

Douglas Neil Swimm passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, at the age of 65. He was born on October 5, 1959, to Kenneth Swimm and his late mother on a U.S. Naval base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Throughout his life, Douglas moved frequently before settling in Chester County, Pennsylvania, where he completed his education, built a career, and raised a family.

Douglas dedicated his professional life to the fields of technology and defense contracting. He held long-term positions with General Electric and Lockheed Martin, where his work reflected his commitment to innovation and excellence. Outside of his career, Douglas found joy in staying active and exploring the world. He was an avid skier, cyclist, and golfer who embraced life's adventures with enthusiasm.

Douglas will be remembered as a beloved father, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his two children, Shannon and Conor; his father, Kenneth; and his siblings, Alyson and Robb. He also leaves behind many friends and extended family members who will cherish his memory.

In accordance with the family's wishes, services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Reckless Beauty Foundation, an organization honoring Douglas' late nephew, Rory Swimm. The foundation is dedicated to educating youth on empathy, inclusion, and community through sports, art, and music programs across the United States.
