DOYLE OLIVER In loving memory of our father and grandfather, Doyle Oliver, 81, of Mesquite, Texas, who passed away on May 13, 2023, after a brief battle with brain cancer. Doyle was born in Cross Plains, Texas, to Elbert and Katie Oliver. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Doyle was one of the kindest souls. Our "Poppy" was a gentle, giving man who worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. He demonstrated his love of family in many ways. He was happy to attend grandparents' days and soccer games and cook our favorite meals to show his devotion. He faced challenges in his life with admirable strength and courage. Doyle was always there for us, whether we needed help with a life decision or just an ear to listen. He was a man of strong faith, and he taught all of us the importance of devotion to family. His love and guidance was the foundation of our family. Doyle was a retired Texas Game Warden. After his retirement, he got busy volunteering at his church, Eastminster Presbyterian Church. He showed off his cooking skills there also. The memorial service will be held at Lucas Funeral Home, 1601 South Main Street, Keller, TX 76248 on Saturday, June 3 at 10 a.m. Poppy, you are now at peace and will live forever in our hearts. We love and miss you so much.

as a Texas State Trooper, also now retired, Doyle was not only my neighbor, but dear friend as well. We worked closely together in our field of law enforcement, be it traffic or game. It is only now that I see his passing. I know he is with Jesus and one day we will be together in His presence.
