Dr. Charles L. Fash, 51, of Oskaloosa, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at his home in Oskaloosa. He was born June 3, 1951, at Steubenville, Ohio, the son of Louis and Stelsa Mayle Fash. He graduated from Amphi Theater High School in Tucson, Arizona with the class of 1969, following graduation he attended University of Arizona from 1969 ? 1971, he then transferred to Vennard College in University Park, Iowa, where he received his B.A. in Bible in 1974. He then moved to Phoenix Az. and attended Arizona State where he received his B.A. and his Masters in Education in 1976. Charles was the Pastor of the Grace Evangelical Methodist Church in Phoenix from 1974 ? 1978, while taking classes. He received his EdD in Education from Northern Arizona University in 1993. In 1978 he started Faith Life Fellowship and Academy in Phoenix Az. where he worked until 1999, when he took the positions of Academic Dean and Head of the Education department at Vennard College in University Park, Iowa. He held that position until March of 2003. He was also currently the Pastor for the What Cheer Baptist Church in What Cheer. He attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Oskaloosa. He loved his family and also enjoyed playing basketball. Charles is survived by his wife: Debra Fash of Oskaloosa; 3 sons: Joshua Fash, Jonathan Fash, and Jordan Fash all of Oskaloosa; 3 daughters: Jodi (& Nathan) Bell, Jenni Fash, and Julianna Fash all of Oskaloosa; 1 sister: Betty (& David) Phillips of Pella. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services for Charles Fash will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene in Oskaloosa, with the Reverend Jack Vernon Connor officiating. Burial will be in the University Park Cemetery in University Park. Visitation will begin Monday after 5 p.m. at the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa, and the family will be present on Tuesday evening from 6:30 ? 8 to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to Vennard College.

I think of Mr Fash often. He is someone 35 years later think of. He meant so much to me. We are all so blessed to have him in our lives.
