My sincere condolences to the family. My father, John Patrick Tracy (Treacy) was a cousin who raised his family in Elk Grove. I remember Dad taking us to the great parties at his Aunt Marie's home where there were so many cousins. I also remember when Father Robert had family over at Queen of the Rosary rectory in Elk Grove. It was something special to be with my Dad and his cousins. Their stories and laughter were priceless.

Sorry to hear about Gerry.
He was always so pleasant and happy and a well respected doctor who attended to my son,Tim, daughter Cara, when we were neighbors in Western Springs, and to my brother Jim Burke many years ago before I knew either of you.
May God's grace comfort you in your loss of a great man.

Dear Mary Clare and the Loftus Clan,
I must say that I really was taken back when I first read about Gerry's passing. The story of how you had moved to the city was news to me for many reasons as I had moved on as well. However, the memories of how you had all influenced the lives of the Barnicle family in such a positive manner will carry on for the years to come. I speak for all of us that he will always will be in our prayers, and held closely in our hearts.

I first met Dr. Loftus in 1982 as a first year medical resident at Mercy Hospital. Dr. Loftus was a respected orthopedic surgeon but I was most impressed with hiis kind compassionate demeanor to all. I would get a chance to visit with Dr. Loftus and his wonderful wife on Sundays as a fellow parishioner at St. John of the Cross in Western Springs. Dr. Loftus was a wonderful physician, husband, father and friend to many, he was an excellent role model teaching me how to be a better physician and Christian. My condolences to all who loved this great man.

To the Loftus family my sincerest sympathies. Dr. Loftus was a great guy and he has a great legacy in his kids who are all wonderful and who are also influencing and helping a lot of people just as he did. I think of Dr. Loftus often because of his great sense of humor, his great laugh, the strongest hand shake I've ever felt and he was always willing to help whenever a neighbor needed it. He also gave me one of my first nick names - Clyde - which only he called me.
Much love - Joe Byerwalter and family
