What a great man. I was privileged to have Dr Macdonald as my attending physician in July of 1985 as a senior resident on the oncology team. He made everything interesting and fun. He always took time to make every case a teaching moment. It was this experience that caused me to change my career plans and went into oncology. I stayed at the University of Kentucky to do my fellowship in oncology under Dr. Macdonald. I am sure I was not the only member of the house staff to be influenced by him. He was a great internist as well as a great oncologist. I will always remember his smile and wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed greatly. I feel honored to have known him and to be able to call him a friend.

Is there a doctor in the house? Hello, Sue, Margaret, John, Kathleen and Fred, You must know how important Jack's skills as a doctor were to me. I am Carol Mahony, Sue's sister. My husband Dick shared in the praises for Jack. He was THE family doctor. Our daughter Carol Ann died of ovarian cancer at a young age in Chicago. Jack followed her care.
Jack and Sue shared good times with us. Ocean days in Westhampton Beach, Thanksgiving and Mom and Dad's Anniversary, Dad's 80th Birth-day. Many times Jack was in New York on a Sunday and drove to see Mom in Bronxville and take her to Hilltop for dinner. We were together for many celebrations. I really enjoyed the times they visited in Vero Beach for Super Bowl Sunday. High praise for "Fifty years of Smooth Sailing" that was the best party of all ! love, prayers and memories. Carol
