Dr. Rick K. Housewright

Dr. Rick K. Housewright of Erie, Colorado, went to be with Jesus on July 4, 2024. He was in the comfort of his own home with his loving wife, Lori, by his side.

Rick was born May 3, 1964 in Roswell, New Mexico to Claudie and Betty Housewright. He

graduated from Goddard High School and then received a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Parker Chiropractic College in 1988. He opened Lone Star Chiropractic in Lubbock, Texas where he practiced for 28 years. He was a gifted healer who deeply loved his patients. He also practiced in McKinney, Texas, Boulder, Colorado and Lafayette, Colorado for a total of 36 years.

Rick had an adventurous spirit. He was an avid fly fisherman. He raced cars for 13 years, from the dirt track to NASCAR sanctioned tracks. He was privileged to take care of the Texas Tech football team, NASCAR drivers and crews as well as many celebrities and well known artists. His love for travel was well known, whether it be the mountains in Colorado, or the islands of Hawaii. He had an enthusiastic love for all things sports, but especially for the Dallas Stars and Colorado Rockies.

His love for Jesus was undeniable and apparent when you knew him. He had a special way of making everyone feel loved and valued. He always wanted to make sure everyone knew their worth, and before anyone left his presence they got the most amazing hug.

He loved his family immensely. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend.

Rick is survived by his wife, Lori of 39 years; Also surviving are his two children: daughter Rikki Bandy and husband Dr. Evan Bandy of Lubbock, Texas, and son Cameron Housewright and wife Jennifer Housewright of Broomfield, Colorado. He has 3 granddaughters, Taylor Housewright, and Luna and Rory Bandy. Other survivors include his parents, his brother Todd Housewright, sister Veronica Corbell and her husband Shorty Corbell, all of Roswell, New Mexico, and his "Brutha from another mother" Dr. William Smith (Bill). He is also survived by his wife's family, Cathy & Kevin Roe, Larry & Rosa Tucker, Lesli & Dr. Jason Clemmons along with nieces, nephews and many friends.

Services will be held July 20, 2024 at 1:13 pm at Harvest Church, 7201 Marsha Sharp Fwy. in Lubbock, Texas.
