DUESDADA "DEE" DUDOIT Duesdada "Dee" Dudoit, died at home in `Ewa Beach at the age of 70 on May 24, 2008, after a courageous fight with cancer. She was born on December 15, 1937 in Paia, Maui to Gabriel and Oliva Maluenda. She attended Moloka'i High School but graduated from Farrington High School in 1956. "Dee" worked for the Department of Education for 42 years, starting as a cafeteria manager at Ka`a`awa Elementary in the mid 1960's and moving to Palolo Elementary in the early 70's. She transferred to Lehua Elementary in Pearl City, and then finally to Pohakea Elementary in `Ewa Beach for the past 25 years as an Educational Assistant/ Librarian Aide/ JPO Advisor. She was dearly loved and respected by the students and her co-workers, and she brought a smile to all who witnessed her funny and witty sense of humor. "Dee" enjoyed doing crafts, crossword puzzles, spending time with her grandchildren and she loved listening to her favorite Hawaiian musical group "Ho`okena" of whom her youngest son Horace is a member. She was eagerly awaiting the construction of their new home in East Kapolei which is expected to be built in 2009 by the Hawaiian Homes Program. "Dee" is survived by her husband of 50 years, Horace K. Dudoit Jr; sons, Nathan, Matthew and Horace III; daughter, Kathy; grandchildren, Bryson, Lauren, Kalei, Kaipo, Gabrielle and Rafael; 3 brothers, Victor Maluenda, Fred Maluenda and Johnny Maluenda; 3 sisters, Dionesia Taylor, Angeline Bell, Felicidad Borden; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the caring staff at St. Francis West Hospice for making mom's final days comfortable and peaceful. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, JUNE 21ST AT MILILANI MORTUARY (MAUKA CHAPEL). VISITATION WILL START AT 4:30 P.M. AND SERVICES AT 6:30 P.M. CASUAL ATTIRE IS REQUESTED BY THE FAMILY. I will miss my dearest Aunt Dues. She was always full of optimism and a joy to be with. I am grateful for the precious moments spent with her and thankful that she is no longer in pain but at peace.

I have known Ms. Dee for awhile now since my mother has started working at Pohakea Elementary. Ms. Dee was always nice and it was always nice to see her. She was really funny and sweet. It is sad to hear of her passing, but her memory will live on forever.
