Dear Lois and family. While we had only a brief time with Duncan we were both so touched by him. Reading his obituary we realise that he was as much to us as his large life to all.
While aware of the immense lose you all are feeling he has left an amazing legacy. For this you are truly blessed.
Knowing him was to feel worthy of a great kindred spirit. We are grateful for our short time to call him friend.
Sincerely

Will miss you old friend! You befriended me, the “yank” when I first moved to Oshawa in1966. Had a hell a time “prying” you out of Engineering to work with. Ed Higgins in truck sales. You were on your way. Many emails
& phone calls over the years, kept in touch. ###family I-am still going .strong at 95 -Cedarbrook of Rochester.

In my career at General Motors I am certain Dunc was the best human being I worked for through those 32 years. Yes, he was the boss, but he was a guiding mentor, almost like you were part of his extended family. Dunc was always dressed sharply and cared about people and listened intently when folks addressed him. His passing is an ache but having known him as a mentor and friend, is a blessing in my life. To his family, you were always #1. Sincere sympathy to you all in this time of loss.

Dunc was one of my favorite bosses in 40 years at GM. I could always walk into his office and be greeted warmly knowing that my input and opinions would be respected and considered. He was fair and genuine and will be greatly missed. RIP, Dunc.

Dunc was one of my favorite bosses of all time at GM! Even when I technically didn't report directly to him, I could walk into his office and always be greeted warmly and with respect. My opinion and knowledge and that of others mattered to him. He was approachable and appreciated your efforts. He will be greatly missed. RIP, Dunc.

Worked with Dunc in Engineering for many years starting in1959. Great guy, good friend. He was "completed" by the "Lovely-Lois" who he often referred to as "the Captain". A true pleasure to have Known Dunc. Condolences to Lois and family.

My brother Marshall gave me the news. Dunc was an awesome person. A dedicated friend, athlete, coach........never ever heard him downplay or criticize anyone.......great dimpled smile........and perhaps the most stylish-dressed gentleman of our times.......one of lives heroes!

Many memories of this wonderful family. As a teenager, I babysat the girls and enjoyed the interactions with Duncan and Lois and particularly with the girls. I met Bobby Hull when he came to the Brodie home to pick keys for a new car. LOTS OF PEACE SENT TO ALL.

You would meet him and years later he would still remember your name. A truly incredible man.

I first met Dunc when I was playing Juvenile hockey in Oshawa. He would come out to our practices and gives us tips on how to play. He was very generous with his time. Was always supportive. A talented athlete in all sports. Later on I had the pleasure of playing hockey with Dunc in the GM Salaried hockey league. What a treat to play with him! Always friendly and very personable. He will be greatly missed. Condolences to Dunc's family. Rest in Peace Dunc.

Dunc was a friend, my coach in junior football with the Imps or Hawkeyes and an adversary for many years in the GM Salary Hockey League. Dunc was a man I respected in many different ways. It was on a General Motors trip to Bermuda in 1974 that I first met Lois and quickly learned that she was a great tennis player and a wonderful woman. My deepest sympathies to Lois and family.

To the Brodie family - the Annand family were saddened to hear about your dad's passing. We have fond memories of him during your time in the Maxwell Heights neighbourhood.
Please take care and know that we're thinking of you and remembering your dad.

Grateful our paths crossed on Marco Island. Duncan’s playful sense of humor on the tennis court will be missed. Wishing the whole family peace.

I have fond memories of Dunc when I was kid working at the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club. He was so kind and respectful of me and my brothers. I watched him do hand standing pushups. He held my brother, Jerry, by the ankles upside down over the edge of the 18th hole bridge.
He brought Bobby Hull and Gordie Howe to play golf. He coached the Hawkeyes and help my brother Gary with weight training.
Another time I helped him get his golf club stuck in the 50 foot elm tree on the 17th hole.
Both Dunc and his wife were kind and gracious to us all.
Thinking of the Brodie family.
