Duncan McDOUGALL Obituary
McDOUGALL, Duncan Thomas November 20, 1931 - February 16, 2010 Duncan passed peacefully on February 16, 2010. Born in Cumbria, UK, Duncan immigrated to Canada in 1952 and married the love of his life Yvonne Emily Hamerton in 1959. Duncan pursued his love of photography and was awarded his Fellowship in the Royal Photographic Society in 1970. Duncan's life work has accumulated many international awards and was also an accomplished pianist and mountain climber. Duncan is predeceased by his parents Cuthbert and Alice and brother Malcolm. He is survived by his soul mate Yvonne, daughter Sharon, son Malcolm (Leslie) and grandchildren Caitlin, Cameron and Duncan. He is also survived by brother Jack (Stella) and many nieces and nephews in UK. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Michael's Hospice in Burnaby for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations to St Michael's Hospice 7451 Sussex Avenue, Burnaby, B.C. V5J 5C2 in Dad's memory would be greatly appreciated. No service by request.

Duncan was a wonderful person, photographer I was friends with in Vancouver Burnaby.. still remember his new grand piano and invitations to his photo studio and Yvonne.. sad 2 here her passed.. RAYMOND CHOW 1941.. GREAT PERSON..

Duncan will always be someone I fondly remember and never forget. He was imaginative and shared his passion in the art of photography with all who had the pleasure of knowing him. It was easy to see the flair and talent he had looking at some of his work. To me, his work proved that the most beautiful colors exist in the mind of the viewer and not the pictures themselves.
Thank you for letting me see beauty through your eyes and I know Heaven just got a little more colourful.

I saw with sadness that Doug has left us. I remember with happiness the Burns dinners I attended, first on W. Georgia and later in your home. My condolences to Yvonne and the family.
