Dwight Schultz

AGE: 95 • Echuca, Victoria, Australia

Dwight Elmer Schultz passed peacefully away at the age of 95 in Echuca, Victoria, Australia in the presence of his family on the 30th July 2016.

A Kansas boy who married a Mississippi girl, Dwight loved to fly. He flew in WWII (Central African Wing) and Korea (67th Tactical Recon Squadron) and retired with a rank of Major after 27 years. His last flying was with the 1299th Air Transport Squadron in DC and his last post was at MacGuire Air Force Base in Philly. He and Jennye lived in Cherry Hill until they moved to Australia to be with their children and grandchildren in 2008.

A devout Christian, he quietly supported his alma mater, Wheaton Academy in Illinois, his home church of First Presbyterian Haddonfield and his last church Uniting Church of Echuca-Moama. He was a quiet advocate for the disenfranchised whether through his work in Mt. Holly, his donations to the Red Cloud Indian School in South Dakota or washing dishes at the free breakfast for the homeless in Australia.

Devoted wife to Jennye, beloved father to Fred and Kathryn, father-in-law to Shannon and cherished "Poppa" to grandchildren Kelsey and Olina.

A Good Man, A Devout Christian, A Hell of a Pilot.

Dwight did my taxes for many years. He would sit at our table and talk with my wife and I about taxes and lots of other things. He was a kind and good man. He did my father's taxes at his gas station for many years also. My dad said he was a good tax man and a very good friend to have. My dad was John H Smith of Marlton,N.J. My brothers and sister all knew him and will miss him.We are sorry for your lost.
