Dr. E.C. "Jack" Aldredge, 92, died October 11, 2015. A visitation will be from 4 to 5 p.m., Sunday, October 18, at Adams Funeral Home in Marlin. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m., on Monday, October 19, at Hillcrest Cemetery, in Marlin.

He was born in Many, Louisiana on November 25, 1922, to Edgar and Lenora Simson Aldredge. He graduated from high school at the age of 15. He was a page in the Louisiana State Senate. After high school he attended business college and moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas to work. Dr. Aldredge served in the United States Army from January 1943 to March 1946, as a Staff Sergeant. He was picked for the dentist development program in December of 1944. He attended Loyola University and the University of California in Los Angeles. Afterwards, he attended Baylor Dental School in Dallas where he graduated in 1949 at the top of his class.

Dr. Aldredge moved to Marlin in 1949 where he established a dental practice which he maintained until 1994. He was a life member of the Texas Dental Association; a Fellow of the American College of Dentistry; and a Fellow of the International College of Dentistry. He was also a member of the Marlin Rotary Club where he was made a Paul Harris Fellow. He served as past member and President of the Marlin ISD School Board; a member and past president of the Marlin Chamber of Commerce; and a Deacon and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Marlin. He was a former member of the Marlin Masonic Lodge. Dr. Aldredge was well known as an avid hunter, fisherman, bird dog trainer, golfer, and a former club champion at the Marlin Country Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Lynne Morgan Aldredge; one sister, Evelyn Aldredge Morgan; four brothers, Curtis, Weldon, Herman, and Arthur; and one granddaughter, Katherine Carrie Aldredge.

He is survived by two sons, John Clinton Aldredge and his wife, Stormy, of Dallas and Stephen Morgan Aldredge and his wife, Kathleen, of Marlin; two granddaughters, Stacy Aldredge Curry of Bremond and Robin Aldredge Kraase of Dallas; three great-granddaughters, Makenzie, Makayla, and Maggie Curry, all of Bremond; and one great-grandson, Logan Michael Kraase of Dallas.
