E. Douglas Grindstaff Sr.

Brentwood E. Douglas , Tenn. - Grindstaff Sr. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of E. Douglas Grindstaff Senior of Brentwood, TN at age 85 from a fatal car accident. Doug was born in Knoxville, TN in 1940 to J. Edward Grindstaff and Joey Ruth Pinyon Grindstaff. He spent years at Proctor & Gamble building up their business, starting in manufacturing management and ending as President of P&G Canada. Then he went on to be the President/CEO of Genesco, driving that company to success. Years later, he retired from large corporations and became an independent venture capital investor, corporate board member, and active local politician, serving two terms as Chairman of the Williamson County Republican Party. Doug is survived by his wife, Rose M. Grindstaff, his sister, four children, 12 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
