E. Irvine Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Sep. 17 to Sep. 19, 2008.
IRVINE - E. Ray (Skip) succumbed peacefully to lung cancer, surrounded by family, on September 14, 2008 at the age of 79. Born in Grenfell, SK, Skip made his way to Toronto in his early teens and then returned to Saskatchewan to enjoy over 35 years with SaskTel as one of the original Telephone Pioneers. Skip loved golfing with his friends, and spending summers with family at the cabin. His fantastic sense of humour and his particular ways will be deeply missed by his wife, Barb; their sons, Rob (Lori), Rick (Davinia) and Kelly (Amanda); as well as his grandchildren. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Zane Tymchak, and the palliative home care nurses, especially Mary Anne K., for their dedication and compassion. At Skip's request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Palliative Home Care, at Suite #201-310 Idylwyld Dr. N, Saskatoon, S7L 0Z2. Arrangements were handled by Martens Warman Funeral Home 934-4888.

Sincerest condolences to family and friends. Skip and I go back a long way as I am also from Grenfell and will never forget his unique personality and character (he was one of a kind). His rendition of "Mona Lisa" which he used to entertain us with as we did line work for the telephone company was priceless and have often thought with voice training he could have become a professional singer. There will never be another "Skip" and I am very grateful that he touched my life.
