MARSHALLTOWN — E. Paul Sander, age 82, of Marshalltown, Iowa, died Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 9th, in Prince of Peace Church in Clinton. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus. Paul was born in Clinton on October 12, 1926, the son of Ernest C. and Erna (Dierks) Sander Jr. He graduated from Goose Lake High School in 1943. Paul served with the U.S. Army during W.W. II. He married Camilla Horner on July 25, 1953, in Clinton; she died in 1993. Paul was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator with Clinton County Maintenance Crew. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Paul is survived by a stepson, Charles (Joan) Horner of Clinton; four sisters, Kay Claussen and Marilyn (Timothy) Mullen both of Clinton, Elaine Jepsen of Goose lake and Myrna Pidde of Thomson, IL; ten stepgrandchildren and ten stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, three brothers-in-law and a stepdaughter, Janice. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.Death date: Oct. 6, 2009
