Joe Corrales born on September 12, 1929, was called home to be with the Lord on February 19, 2024, while surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born to Maria Victoria Sanchez-Corrales and Tomas Corrales; he was one of 6 brothers and one sister. He was raised and lived in beautiful Gallina, NM. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved his family above anything. He was so very proud of the family he built. Joe was a very kind and gentle man that would brighten any room with his beautiful eyes and contagious smile. He will be missed beyond words by many.
Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife Lucy, his grandson Matthew, his beloved son Joseph, his parents, his brothers Rogelio, Frank, Epifano, Anselmo, Celestino and sister Elizaida Suazo.
He is survived by his daughters Doris (Bernardo) Serrano, Carole Corrales (Andy), Tommie (Martin) Trujillo, Angela (Sergio) Chacon and his special daughter-in-law Charlotte Corrales as well as nine grandchildren, 18 (one on the way) great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild on the way, sisters-in-law Candelaria Corrales, Delfida Corrales, and Rose Cordova and many families and friends.
A public visitation will be held on Thursday February 29, 2024, at 6:00pm with a rosary to follow at 7:00pm at Nuestra Señora De Guadalupe Catholic Church in Gallina, NM. A funeral Mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday March 1, 2024, at 10:00 am at Nuestra Señora De Guadalupe Catholic Church in Gallina, NM. Interment will follow at the Nuestra Señora De Guadalupe Cemetery in Gallina.
Serving as Pallbearers are Daniel Serrano, David Serrano, Craig Lucero, Robby Trujillo, Jerome Salaz, and Ricardo Chacon. Honorary Pallbearers are all his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and Godchildren.
