Mr. Earl A. Ellsworth Jr. of Wilmington; 79 WILMINGTON Mr. Earl A. Ellsworth, Jr., age 79, of Wilmington, died peacefully, Friday, July 10, 2009, at home surrounded by his family. Born on November 30, 1929, in Boston, MA, Earl was the dear son of the late Earl A., Sr. and Rita (Gelino) Ellsworth. He grew up in Dorchester, MA, and was a graduate of Boston Catholic High School. Earl received Engineering degrees from Fitchburg State College and M.I.T. in Cambridge. Earl served in the Naval Reserves from 1948 1952. He married Patricia F. White on July 31, 1950, at St. Patrick's Church in Roxbury, MA and they were just shy of celebrating their 59th Wedding Anniversary. Earl and Patricia moved to Wilmington in 1959 and raised their wonderful family. Prior to retiring in 1991, Earl was employed as an Electrical Engineer for Raytheon in Bedford for over 30 years. In his spare time, Earl was an avid auto racing fan, a member of the Bay State Midget Car Racing Club, and a ham radio operator (call letters W1 EQM). Earl will be remembered by his family and friends as a hard worker and a devoted family man, he will be greatly missed. Earl was a the beloved husband of Patricia F. (White) Ellsworth, devoted father of Lynne Marie (Ellsworth) D'Errico & her husband Larry of Tewksbury, Karen Anne (Ellsworth) Colliton & her husband Kevin of Chelmsford, Janet Patricia (Ellsworth) Mahoney of Wilmington, Thomas Earl Ellsworth & his wife Deborah Rousseaux of Wilmington, Nancy Rita (Ellsworth) Blanco & her husband Paul of Chelmsford, Maria Sarah (Ellsworth) Schacht & her husband Paul of Londonderry, NH, and Paul Patrick Ellsworth & his wife Elizabeth of Burlington, loving grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, dear brother of Ronald Ellsworth & his wife Joan of Southboro. ELLSWORTH Earl A. Ellsworth, Jr., age 79, of Wilmington, July 10, 2009. Beloved husband of Patricia F. (White) Ellsworth. Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Tuesday, July 14th at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Dorothy's Church in Wilmington at 10:00 A.M. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours Monday, July 13th from 3-8 P.M. Memorial donations in Earl's name may be made to St. Dorothy's Church, 11 Harnden St., Wilmington, MA 01887.
