I worked with Earl in Tacoma and remained friends with him for years thereafter. We would meet for lunch occasionally and kept in touch by phone after we both moved away from the area. My prayers go out to his family.

I wondered into the gym today and received the news about my new friend Earl. My mind immediately went to Superbowl Sunday and how we smuggled in drinks and food to the lounge area of the gym and had a blast. Over the last 4 months I could always count on Earl to brighten everyone's day with a joke or be a soundboard upon which to bounce off ideas to just about anything. I'll miss you buddy!

Knew Earl at Salk and Shadle but had lost track of him and not seen him since about 1976. Wish we had stayed in touch. Had a lot of good times, played a lot of basketball and tennis back in the day. I'll never forget his cutting wit, sense of humor and his laugh...mostly his laugh. Well.....maybe his afro and horned room glasses too!!

We were friends for 46 years.
That says everything.

My sincerest condolences to Earl's family. He was a long-time friend of Kevin & Debi's and I've heard so many stories about him over the years I feel like I knew him. He will be missed by many.

After being in our lives for 34 years it is hard to believe you are gone. Hailey, Lindsay, and Spencer all have their own special memories of you but the one I will call on the most is when we were having a bad day at the office Drew would call you and put you on speakerphone. He would start reading some stupid jokes from the internet and you would be so fast to laugh - so loud and strong that pretty soon we would all be cracking up and get in a much better mood. We will all miss you so much. You've been through so much and hopefully, now, peace.

You were a great friend and a great member of our gym at strohs fitness. I will never forget you. We had alot of great times watching gonzaga and nba games together the last couple of months. I know ive only known you for 4 months but we became close friends during that time. love you brother

I can’t even remember a time when Earl was not in my life, my sister became friends with him a very long time ago and he was always a part of our family. Earl would join us at holiday meals, worked for my husband, and most important was involved in all of kid’s lives!
Earl was truly a gentle giant. His love and patients for kids was unbelievable. He would sit and play with play dough, worked with my son when he joined the track team and was the one that showed my kids the movie “the sandlot” which we watched several times a day for years!
I remember the time we thought Earl needed a girlfriend so we placed a personal ad for him (before the internet), when I asked him what he wanted in a girl his request was that they shaved. So his ad read “no Europe hygiene!”
I still can’t believe I won’t see that great smile or hear his stories. Earl you will be missed by many!

Earl worked for me at DAB Consulting for a few years right after he left Fed Ex. The nice thing about him is that he was so tall he could decorate the office around the holidays without having to stand on a ladder. We will miss him. Our prayers to his family.
