Earvin "Dickie" Eaddy, Jr. PHILADELPHIA, PA - Funeral services for Mr. Earvin "Dickie" Eaddy, Jr., formerly of Florence, SC, will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Olive Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Coward. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. He died Sunday, September 11, 2011 in Philadelphia, PA after an illness. "Dickie", as he was affectionately called, was born June 21, 1953 in Florence County to Earvin Eaddy, Sr. and Earline Rush Williams. He was raised by his maternal grandparents, Mack Roy and Braziler Black Rush. At age thirteen, he relocated to Norwalk, CT to live with his paternal grandparents, Rev. Luther and Mattie Eaddy. He was employed by Heinz Company of New Jersey for 14 years until his health declined. Earvin was a dedicated member of New Gethsemane Baptist Church, Philadelphia, PA. In addition to his father, maternal and paternal grandparents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret L. Rogers. Survivors besides his mother are: three daughters, Tyshea Walker, Sharon Smith and Venita Smith, all of Philadelphia, PA; one son, Earvin Eaddy, III of North Carolina; grandchildren, Zaion Very, Dwaintaner Garden, Dyshon Garden and Kobi Rich, all of Philadelphia, PA; two brothers, to include a devoted one, Willie Robert (Audrey) Rush of Timmonsville, SC and Lloyd Williams of Effing-ham, SC; devoted aunt, Annie Ray Starr of Florence, SC; great aunt, Marceil Williams of Florence, SC; devoted cousins, Shirley Brown, Ernestine Ashley and Janie Mae Wheeler; special friends, Mildred Smith, Lenny and Tubby, all of Philadelphia, PA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family is receiving friends at the 4336 Sardis Highway, Timmonsville. Memorial and Condolence messages may be mailed to Ideal Funeral Parlor, 106 E.
