Eben Platt Obituary
Unexpectedly on Sunday, April 19, 2009, age 50, of Highland Park. Beloved father of Kyra Platt and Torin Platt; brother of Burdette Platt and Lisa Platt (husband Frank Cartieri); uncle of Jason Lang Sigal and Amy Lippincott Sigal; son of the late Peerce and Nancy Platt; also survived by many other nieces, nephews and friends, including his two favorite feline friends, Six and Zoey. Eben had an adventurous nature and in addition to being a single engine airplane pilot and Master scuba diver and instructor, enjoyed traveling, surfing and skiing. He was a very talented craftsman who applied his art in woodworking and cabinetry. Friends received at McCABE BROS., INC. FUNERAL HOMES, 6214 Walnut Street, Shadyside on Thursday, from 2 pm until Memorial Service at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations for the education of Eben's children in care of his sisters, Lisa and Burdette Platt, 5300 Penn Ave, Pgh Pa 15224.

Lisa, I just found out that Benny is gone...10 years after. I am so sorry for Burdette's and your loss. When Ben worked for me, we were very close; but times and circumstances seem to drift so many of us apart. But no matter where he was, or where he now is, there will always be a place for him in my heart.

Dear Lisa, Burdette and Family,
I am so sorry for the sudden loss of your beloved Eben. Lenora called me on Monday. I spoke with Alison and regret that I am unable to attend services today as I am currently living in Maryland. I had the pleasure of getting to know Eben through Alison and Lenora. He was a beautiful person, full of sunshine, hope and smiles for those that he cared for. I know that He was Much Loved and Cherished. He will be greatly missed.
