Ed Harding Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 5, 2018.
Ed "Buddy" Harding, age 70, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. He was born November 19, 1947 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Arlie Edward and Margaret Lee (Maddox) Harding.

Buddy is survived by his wife, Debby Harding; son Robert Edward Harding; brother Charles Harding, sister Linda Marie Harding and brother Hubert Wayne Harding (Sharon); grandchildren Josh Harding and Tracie Gardner; great-granddaughter Crimson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and his work family.

He was preceded in death by his brother John Edward Harding and his sister Sherry Ann Gardner.

Known as "Ed" at work and "Buddy" at home, he was known for being a caring and generous man. He worked for Moore Oil Company Inc. for over 40 years, most recently as Operations Manager. He worked hard and was dependable to both his work family and his own family. Buddy loved NASCAR, Alabama football, his cats, and above all, his beloved wife, Debby. Buddy worshiped the ground Debby walked on and they were happily married for nearly 46 years. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

A visitation for Buddy will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, Alabama. Graveside Service will follow at 3:00 PM at Elmwood Cemetery & Mausoleum, 600 Martin Luther King Jr Dr., Birmingham, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Eastern Area Christian Ministries, P.O. Box 610847, Birmingham, AL 35261, checks payable to EACM, 205-836-9932.
