BREMEN - Mary A. Holewinski, 86, died Monday, Oct. 20th, in Community Hospital of Bremen. She was born on June 16, 1922, in Indiana, to the late Charles and Ann (VonBergen) Nicholas. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kristian Ann, two brothers and four sisters. She was retired and had worked for the hospital in Bremen for several years as a licensed medical records librarian. She graduated from Riley High School, South Bend, in 1940. She enjoyed playing cards with a group of close friends. On Feb. 9, 1944, she married Erwin Holewinski, who survives. Also surviving are sons, Erwin "Bud" (Brenda) Holewinski Jr. of Elkhart and Dennis Holewinski of Lakeville; grandchildren, Kirk (Donna) Holewinski of Bristol, Amberley Fenner of Middlebury and Tabbitha "Tabby" Sauter of Bremen; and a great-granddaughter, Mariah Holewinski of Goshen. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen, with Pastor Chuck Krieg officiating. Burial will be at Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the organization of one's choice. The Mishler Funeral home in Bremen is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mishlerfuneralhomes.com.
