Eddie was born on July 21, 1942 and passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. Eddie was a resident of Lexington, North Carolina at the time of passing. He was a graduate of Northwest High School and soon after graduation he joined the U.S. Army. July 21, 1942 - May 01, 2018 Eddie Tyree Atkins, Jr., age 75 of Hicks Road, Lexington, NC passed away Tuesday evening at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. A gathering of family and friends will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the residence on Hicks Road, Lexington, NC, where all are welcomed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box, 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517, or a charity of choice.

Eddie was a quiet man. But any word spoken was a kind one. I will always remember his kindness to our mother in her last days living in his home. You will be missed and remembered. My our Lord's blessings be on the family at this time.
