Eddie Charles Gunderson, age 59, passed away after a brief illness, Monday, June 25, 2012. He was born in Dallas, Texas on May 15, 1953 to Eddie and Willine Meadows Gunderson. He was a lifelong resident of Dallas where he worked for the Dallas Times Herald and the Dallas Morning News. Eddie is predeceased in death by his father, Edvin M. Gunderson, sister Brenda Kaye Gunderson and nephew Michael D. Elkins, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Rebecca Gunderson, his loving mother Willine Gunderson Harroff, children; Lance Edward Gunderson, Dylan Chas Gunderson, Sonnie Michaela Gunderson, step-children Bruce Dodd and wife Rachel Berry, Brook Dodd and husband Jason English, Heather Tunnel and husband Justin Butler, grandchildren; Dalton Duncan, Kayla English, Emma English, Brynn Dodd, Ryder Dodd and Zane Butler, sister and brother-in-law Micki and Mike Rawlings as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He had special love and respect for his father in law Allen Watkins. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 27 from 6-8 PM at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank, TX. Services will be held Thursday, June 28, 2 PM at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Four Mile Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to Four Mile Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 5004 Mabank, TX 75147, or the charity of your choice.

I don't know why, maybe because I'll be 70 soon. But I was thinking about you today. My friend Eddie. We went to Adamson together and when you threw my paper in Duncanville we used to argue over the Redskins and Cowboys. I live in Oklahoma now but I miss those debates we had over football. God bless you Eddie. RIP my friend
